Job Summary

Norfolk & Suffolk Foundation NHS Trust is seeking a proactive and organised Project Manager (Band 6) to join the EPR Programme team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering projects that support the implementation and optimisation of the Trust’s Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system.

This position involves planning, coordinating, and managing EPR-related projects using recognised project management tools and techniques to achieve successful outcomes. Main Duties

  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver projects within the EPR Programme to support digital transformation.

  • Work collaboratively with clinical, corporate, and operational colleagues to achieve project goals.

  • Develop and maintain project plans, track progress, and manage resources effectively.

  • Communicate updates, risks, and outcomes clearly to stakeholders and project boards.

  • Apply project management methodologies and ensure compliance with governance processes.

  • Organise and facilitate meetings, ensuring follow-up on actions.

  • Maintain accurate project documentation and adhere to Trust information governance standards.

  • Support change management and service improvement activities.

  • Supervise and support project support staff.

  • Contribute to project evaluations and lessons learned for continuous improvement.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience managing projects or change programmes

  • Project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2 Foundation, APM PFQ) or equivalent knowledge

Desirable:

  • PRINCE2 Practitioner, Agile, or equivalent advanced certification

Experience

Essential:

  • Experience managing defined projects or supporting change initiatives

  • Proven application of project management tools and techniques

Desirable:

  • NHS or public sector experience

  • Experience with EPR implementation

Skills

Essential:

  • Effective communication and influencing abilities

  • Strong problem-solving and planning skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Power BI, and Teams

  • Ability to interpret data and manage project timelines

Desirable:

  • Ability to build strong working relationships across departments

  • Strong report writing and presentation skills

  • Ability to manage competing priorities

Knowledge

Essential:

  • Understanding of project planning, timelines, and resource allocation

  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g. risk registers, Gantt charts)

  • Knowledge of project governance and change management principles

Desirable:

  • Awareness of PRINCE2 or similar frameworks
