About the Role
RGH-Global is delighted to partner with a leading care provider to find dedicated and compassionate Care Assistants to join their exceptional team.
In this role, you will work as part of a collaborative team delivering care to residents via the “Named Nurse” concept. You will play a vital role in contributing to the fulfilment of the philosophy of care, ensuring the residents’ privacy, dignity, respect, and choice, while supporting the Named Nurse in the delivery of nursing care.
Key Responsibilities
Personal Care: Enable and assist residents to maintain their personal hygiene and appearance, and help them access and use toilet facilities while participating in individual continence promotion programmes.
Nutritional Support: Enable and assist residents to eat and drink.
Mobility & Comfort: Promote, maintain, and improve the mobility of residents, supervising and assisting as necessary to ensure they retain optimum mobility and achieve physical comfort.
Social & Well-being: Participate in organizing and carrying out social activities, assist with outings, and provide emotional, physical, and spiritual support.
Communication: Maintain a high level of communication between residents, families, and staff to develop good relationships.
Environment & Safety: Assist in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in the home, safely operate laundry equipment, and contribute to the maintenance of Health and Safety.
What to Expect: A Comprehensive 5-Day Induction
We want you to succeed from day one. You will spend your first day twinned with an identified staff member, embarking on a structured, 5-day induction and onboarding program:
Day 1: Introduction to the company, line management structure, philosophy of care, Health & Safety policy, risk assessments, and the geographic layout of the home.
Day 2: Formal introduction to residents, learning the named nursing system, understanding what constitutes abuse, and participating in holistic care.
Day 3: Health & Safety training (including COSHH and RIDDOR), fire precautions, infection control, defect reporting, and equipment operations.
Day 4: First Aid essentials (handling falls, choking, burns, electrical shock, and haemorrhage) and an introduction to specific resident needs (sensory impairments, confusional states, and communication difficulties).
Day 5: Mastering record keeping and reporting mechanisms (care plans, incident tracking, individual resident records) and reviewing resident-focused quality issues and complaints handling.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A genuinely compassionate, respectful, and empathetic nature aligned with a holistic approach to care.
- Strong communication skills and a team-player attitude.
- Awareness of essential regulations such as COSHH, RIDDOR, and general Health and Safety legislation.
- Manual Handling training (covering the anatomy of the back and safe moving loads) must be completed before you commence employment, for which you will be paid.
