About The Conifers
The Conifers is a small, independent social care organisation located in Fordham, Colchester. The residential care setting supports 8 adults with learning disabilities:

6 clients live in a spacious bungalow, ‘The Conifers’, with a beautiful garden and heated outdoor swimming pool

2 clients live in new, self-contained independent flats, each requiring dedicated 1:1 support
Current Opportunities
The Conifers has 2 Permanent Care Staff and 1 Night Awake Care Staff vacancies available, both full-time and part-time. These roles are subject to an enhanced DBS and reference checks.
Key Responsibilities

Assist clients with personal care, including bathing and dressing

Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients’ quality of life

Support clients with mobility and physical activities

Manage and support positive behaviours, following PBS (Positive Behaviour Support) Plans

Facilitate communication with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care

Drive clients to appointments and social activities
-
Maintain accurate records of client progress and wellbeing

Develop learning and take advantage of the training offered
About You

Minimum age: 18 years old
-
Full UK driving licence: Essential, as public transport is unavailable and staff are required to drive company vehicles. Night staff must have their own transport to and from work

Experience: Previous experience working in the care sector is essential, ideally supporting people with learning disabilities

Confident, responsible, and able to work independently to plan, assess risks, and support clients on outings

Competitive Pay: £12.82 per hour (Monday to Sunday), to be increased by percentage when minimum wage increases
