Velindre University NHS Trust is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join the Digital Services team, working collaboratively across the Trust and wider NHS Wales to provide transformative digital systems and insight-led services.
The Trust is in an exciting period of change, including the opening of a new world-class cancer centre to extend and enhance specialist cancer treatment, alongside delivery of cancer care closer to home at regional sites.
For the Welsh Blood Service, Velindre University NHS Trust is transforming blood and transplant services, improving current capabilities and developing new services including plasma for medicines. An ambitious digital strategy underpins this transformation, revolutionising service delivery through co-produced innovative technologies, digital inclusion, and embedding data and insight into everyday practice.
The Digital Services team delivers new digital solutions and excellent everyday digital services to improve outcomes for donors, patients, and colleagues. Successful digital transformation is recognised as being driven by people and culture as much as by technology.
Main Duties of the Role
The provision of high-quality Data and Insight services is central to the purpose and vision of Velindre University NHS Trust.
Operating as part of a digital multi-disciplinary team, the Senior Data Analyst will engage with colleagues across all areas of the Trust to co-produce robust, user-centred, and pragmatic analytical solutions. Drawing on experience across multiple analytical techniques, the role is responsible for delivering analytical projects and supporting the wider team to meet expected standards of quality and timeliness.
The role involves suggesting and adopting innovative ways of working, contributing to a culture of curiosity and creativity across Data & Insights and the wider Digital Services team, and participating in learning networks across the NHS and beyond.
The Senior Data Analyst supports delivery of the Trust’s digital strategy by embedding a user-centric, agile ethos into ways of working. Through strong relationships across the Trust, the role supports improvement of data literacy across the workforce by developing analytical products that are easy to understand and use, as well as delivering informal skills transfer and small group learning events.
