Resposibities / Duties
- Coordinate dispatch activities by scheduling pickups and deliveries using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine.
- Monitor GPS and GIS tools to track fleet locations, optimize routes, and ensure timely deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, and customers via multi-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
- Enter data accurately into systems like AS400 and transportation management platforms to update shipment statuses, delivery schedules, and freight details.
- Assist with shipping & receiving processes, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with logistics protocols.
- Support fleet management by tracking vehicle maintenance schedules and coordinating dispatch accordingly.
- Analyze transportation data to identify inefficiencies or delays and recommend improvements for supply chain optimization.
Skills
- Strong understanding of GIS (Geographic Information Systems), GPS technology, and transportation management systems.
- Proven experience in dispatching freight, logistics coordination, and transportation planning.
- Excellent analysis skills to interpret data related to supply chain operations and fleet performance.
- Proficiency in using Oracle Transportation Management, SyteLine, and AS400 platforms for data entry and system updates.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally.
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures, freight documentation, and 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) operations.
- Adept at using analysis tools to improve transportation efficiency and resolve issues proactively.
