Job Overview
Walfinch Oxfordshire is seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers / Support Workers to provide high-quality care in assisted living and home care settings. The role focuses on supporting the well-being, independence, and comfort of clients with diverse needs, including those requiring specialised dementia, Alzheimer’s, or hospice care.

Location Requirement: Applicants must reside in Oxfordshire (Wantage, Witney, Oxford, Abingdon, Didcot, Faringdon, Lechlade, or Burford). Applications from outside these areas will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities

Provide personalised care, including personal care, bathing, dressing, and mobility support.

Assist clients with medication following prescribed protocols.

Support clients with meal preparation and feeding as required.

Manage behaviour using effective techniques to ensure safety and comfort.

Offer companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive environment.

Perform light housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe living space.

Drive clients to appointments or outings while adhering to safety regulations.

Respond promptly to emergencies using first aid skills when needed.

Support clients in various settings, including home care, nursing homes, or hospice environments.
Qualifications & Skills

Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care is highly desirable, though beginners are welcome.

Knowledge of dementia care and hospice support is advantageous.

Relevant skills include caregiving, medication administration, behaviour management, and first aid certification.

Ability to perform heavy lifting safely for mobility assistance or equipment handling.

Valid UK Driving Licence and access to own car for transporting clients.

Compassionate nature with excellent communication skills and patience.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings or weekends if necessary.
