Job Summary
The University of Leeds is recruiting a Communications Manager to join the communications team supporting world-leading health and social care research. This role contributes to improving people’s health and wellbeing, promoting economic growth, and delivering high-impact communications for the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR).
This position is ideal for an experienced communications professional and press officer with proven success in digital communications and media relations.
Key Responsibilities
The role has two main aspects, with time split equally between the following areas:
1. NIHR RDN Communications (50%)

Lead the operational delivery of planning, management, and evaluation of communications projects and channels across the NIHR Research Delivery Network (RDN)

Support the NIHR’s flagship digital engagement service, Be Part of Research
2. NIHR Media Relations (50%)

Contribute as a member of the NIHR Media Relations delivery team

Support the press office function and associated strategic priorities
Work Location & Flexibility

Based in Leeds or London with hybrid working arrangements

University of Leeds expects all RDNCC staff to spend at least 40% of their time in the office
