Job Summary

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) is seeking an enthusiastic IT Support Officer to join its customer-focused IT Service Desk team. This role acts as the first point of contact for technical support for colleagues across North Wales.

The IT Support Officer will ensure staff have the tools and support needed to deliver exceptional patient care. Responsibilities include supporting a wide range of IT systems, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement to keep IT services responsive to the evolving digital landscape.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable, but Welsh and English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main Duties of the Job

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising on support elements for a wide range of IT solutions.

  • Responding to IT issues via telephone, ITSM user portal, or in person, in a polite and professional manner, adhering to Service Level Agreements.

  • Accurately recording all IT-related issues within the Service Desk incident management tool (ITSM).

  • Providing first-line technical support, including diagnosing hardware and software problems and initiating corrective actions.

  • Ensuring a high-level customer-focused service.

  • Maintaining call ownership throughout the lifecycle of support requests.

Essential Criteria

  • Educated to Diploma/HNC level or equivalent experience.

  • Evidence of Continual Professional Development.

  • Strong problem identification and solving skills.

  • Ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a high-pressure environment.

  • Excellent customer service orientation.
