As part of its growth strategy, the company is seeking an experienced and motivated Transport Manager to oversee and develop transport operations in line with UK regulatory requirements.
Role Overview
The Transport Manager will manage day-to-day transport operations, ensuring:

Full compliance with DVSA, Traffic Commissioner regulations, and health & safety standards

Operational efficiency and high service standards
This role is critical to maintaining legal compliance, smooth operations, and supporting business growth.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and oversee all transport operations according to UK transport legislation

Ensure compliance with DVSA, Traffic Commissioner, and Operator Licence requirements

Plan, coordinate, and optimise vehicle routes and schedules
-
Monitor vehicle maintenance, inspections, servicing, and MOT schedules
-
Ensure driver compliance with drivers’ hours, tachograph rules, and working time regulations
-
Recruit, train, and manage drivers and transport staff
-
Maintain accurate transport records and documentation
-
Implement and monitor health & safety policies
-
Control transport budgets, costs, and fuel efficiency
-
Act as the main contact for regulatory bodies and audits

Identify operational improvements to support business growth
Requirements
Essential:
-
Valid Transport Manager CPC (National or International)

Proven experience in a transport or logistics management role
-
Strong knowledge of UK transport legislation and compliance
-
Excellent organisational and leadership skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Competent in IT (transport management systems, compliance software, MS Office)
Desirable:

Experience managing HGV or commercial vehicle fleets

Experience in a growing or start-up transport business

Familiarity with audits and operator licence reviews
