Job Summary
Velindre Cancer Centre is one of the leading non-surgical oncology centres in the United Kingdom and operates as a division of Velindre University NHS Trust. To support this ambition, the Transforming Cancer Services (TCS) Programme has been established, working closely with the Welsh Government and Local Health Boards. This programme includes several major projects, such as the development of a new cancer centre (nVCC) in Cardiff, a Radiotherapy Satellite Centre in Abergavenny, and the reconfiguration of outreach services.
The Project Support Officer will work within the nVCC Project Controls Team, supporting the Principal Project Manager to deliver workstream objectives and ensure alignment across the wider TCS Programme, with the goal of delivering a new hospital by 2027.

Key Responsibilities
-
Provide proactive support to the Project Management Office (PMO)
-
Contribute to project planning, control, and delivery
-
Monitor and report project control elements as directed by the Project Control Team Manager (PCTM)

Support accurate and consistent project reporting, challenging where necessary
-
Provide administrative and secretarial support for meetings at all levels
-
Support PMO objectives including benefits realisation, assurance reviews, post-project evaluation, and lessons learned

Line manage Project Administrators where applicable

Build and maintain credibility with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders

Maintain excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Use Power Business Intelligence (BI) tools to support reporting and analysis

Essential Qualifications and Knowledge

Degree-level education or equivalent experience

PRINCE2 training (formal or informal, or willingness to work towards qualification)

Evidence of further professional development at diploma level or equivalent

Experience administering projects or programmes

Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
