Job Title: Transport Manager
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £45,000 per year
Location: 7 Vine Close, Basildon, England, SS14 1GF
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all transport operations in accordance with UK transport legislation
- Ensure compliance with DVSA, Traffic Commissioner, and Operator Licence requirements
- Plan, coordinate, and optimise vehicle routes and schedules
- Monitor vehicle maintenance, inspections, servicing, and MOT schedules
- Ensure driver compliance with drivers’ hours, tachograph rules, and working time regulations
- Recruit, train, and manage drivers and transport staff
- Maintain accurate transport records and documentation
- Implement and monitor health & safety policies and procedures
- Control transport budgets, costs, and fuel efficiency
- Act as the main point of contact for regulatory bodies and audits
- Identify operational improvements and support business growth
Requirements
- Valid Transport Manager CPC (National or International) – essential
- Proven experience in a transport or logistics management role
- Strong knowledge of UK transport legislation and compliance
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Competent IT skills (transport management systems, compliance software, MS Office)
