About the Role
We are looking for an organised and proactive Assistant Project Manager to support the successful planning, coordination and controlled delivery of projects across the business.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing structure, clarity and follow-through to a busy project environment. Working closely with Project Managers and wider delivery teams, you will help keep projects well organised, properly reported and aligned with programme, cost, quality and governance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the day-to-day coordination and delivery of live projects
- Maintaining project plans, trackers, schedules, action logs and project records
- Preparing reports, dashboards and status updates for internal and client-facing use
- Supporting governance activities, progress reviews, meetings and follow-up actions
- Tracking milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks and issues
- Working with internal teams, suppliers and other stakeholders to support delivery progress
- Assisting with commercial and project administration where required
- Contributing to process improvement, consistency and quality across project activities
Requirements
- Minimum HND in a relevant discipline, with a Bachelor’s degree preferred
- At least 2 years’ experience in a project support, project coordination or similar project delivery role
- Experience supporting projects in a structured delivery environment
- Strong organisational skills and good attention to detail
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good to excellent Excel, Word and general IT skills
- Experience maintaining project records, trackers, logs or reports
- A proactive and dependable approach to getting things done
It Would Be Great If You Also Have:
- Experience in engineering, infrastructure, utilities, manufacturing or construction
- Knowledge of NEC forms of contract and related terminology
- Exposure to project controls, governance or commercial administration
- Some knowledge of Microsoft Project
- Experience working with mixed internal and external stakeholders in a live delivery setting
- Relevant project management training or progress towards a recognised qualification such as APM, PRINCE2 or equivalent
