Job Summary
Plumber / Heating Engineer (Mechanical Craftsperson) – Suffolk Based at Lowestoft.
Norfolk & Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT) are looking for a skilled Plumber/Heating Engineer to join the existing multi-disciplinary professional maintenance team in providing a safe environment for all service users, staff and visitors across Suffolk & Norfolk sites. Being based in Lowestoft.
The successful candidate would be flexible, enthusiastic, self-motivated and confident in being part of a team that provides a comprehensive maintenance service in a unique varied environment and ideally Gas Safe Registered, however this is not essential as Norfolk & Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust will support and provide relevant training for the right person.

Main Duties of the Job
Duties & Responsibilities Associated with this role include but are not limited to:
- Providing a comprehensive service to include all aspects of planned, routine and reactive maintenance.
- The repair and maintenance of a wide range of mechanical services and equipment on site.
- Fault finding and diagnosis.
- Routine inspections to ensure the estate is safe and fully compliant.
- Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with the requirements of Health & Safety and other relevant legislation.
- You will be required to participate as a member of the On-Call Team providing an emergency out of hours service on a rotational basis.

Skills
Essential
- Ability to work at height using ladders/ scaffolding, access platforms and in confined spaces.
Experience
Essential
- Two years experience having demonstrated high technical versatility and flexibility.
Desirable
- Experience of working in a mental health or secure services hospital environment.
Qualifications
Essential
- Recognised and registered CITB or EITB minimum three year apprenticeship in plumbing/mechanical engineering AND/OR City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering Parts 1, 2 & 3 or Plumbing NVQ 1, 2 & 3 OR BTEC, ONC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Full UK driving licence for ability to drive Trust vehicles.
Desirable
- BTEC, ONC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Accredited Certificate Scheme (ACS) Gas Qualified.
