Lift Kingswood are seeking a passionate and committed PE Teacher to join the team and help further strengthen the exceptional provision.

About the Role
As a PE Teacher at Kingswood Academy, you’ll create a learning environment where all students feel supported and encouraged. You’ll plan engaging lessons, track student progress, and provide helpful feedback. Working closely with colleagues, pastoral staff, and parents, you’ll help meet the needs of every student and build their confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and teach lessons that engage students and build understanding
- Adapt your teaching style to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND, high ability, and EAL
- Use assessment and feedback to help students reflect on their progress and close any gaps
- Build a positive classroom culture with clear routines and high expectations for behaviour
- Work with colleagues, parents, and support staff to create the best outcomes for every student
Lift Kingswood Is Looking for Someone Who
- Have QTS, or are currently training and due to achieve QTS by September 2026 or hold a degree in a sport discipline and would like to transition into teaching through the in-house Instructor training route, leading to securing qualified teacher status within two years. Helping Lift Kingswood to develop the next generation of great teachers.

House System
Lift Kingswood is also very proud of its competition-based house system. The aim of the house system is to build teamwork, confidence and community through competition. Lift Kingswood sees the house system as an ‘activator’, a vehicle to motivate and encourage students to push themselves outside of their comfort zone.
There are four houses:
- Reckitt
- Wilberforce
- Johnson
- Sullivan
Every student, and every member of staff, is affiliated to one of the houses and they compete to earn points for their house. Students can earn points for good attendance and for making rapid academic progress. They can also earn points by entering house competitions such as: photography, dance, cookery, poetry, chess, talent shows and sports day to name but a few.
Lift Kingswood has got a competition to enable everyone to get involved. Lift Kingswood wants every student to gain the confidence and belief to compete and experience what it feels like to be part of a successful team. The house system also exposes students to team camaraderie, team spirit and having a united mission/goal.
Academic Results
Lift Kingswood’s Progress 8 score is +1.17; meaning that in every subject, students make over a grade more progress than other students do nationally. Lift Kingswood’s Attainment 8 score is 56.8, against the National Average of 44.3. This means that students on average achieve between a Grade 5 (good pass) and a Grade 6 in all subjects.
78% of students also achieved a Grade 4 or higher in both English and Maths, which is well above the National Average of 63%.
Lift Kingswood’s disadvantaged students’ Progress 8 score is +1.15 and the SEN Progress 8 score is +1.29, highlighting that all students achieve well at Kingswood Academy; in line with the key driver of ‘Everyone is valued’.
As a school, Lift Kingswood has the highest expectations of students, which led to 22% of students achieving Grade 9s in GCSE subjects, placing these students’ performance in the top 5% of the country.
