Applicants can apply to teach one or more subjects and do not need to teach all three.

Ivy High is recruiting tutors in the following subject areas:

English

• KS3 English.

• GCSE English Language and Literature.

Maths

• KS3 Maths.

• GCSE Maths.

Science

• KS3 Science.

• GCSE Double Award Science, covering Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Applicants can teach one or more of these subjects.

Main Responsibilities

As an Online Tutor, your responsibilities will include:

• Plan and deliver engaging live online lessons in your subject.

• Set and mark work, giving clear feedback students can act on.

• Track progress and adapt teaching to different needs and abilities.

• Create a welcoming classroom where every student has opportunities to participate.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants will need:

• A recognised teaching qualification and relevant secondary teaching experience.

• Experience teaching their subject at GCSE or IGCSE level.

• Confidence maintaining engagement in an online classroom.

• Strong organisation, reliable communication and a commitment to safeguarding.

Working Arrangements

Live online lessons run Monday to Thursday during UK daytime hours.

Teaching hours will be agreed before appointment.

Tutors will need:

• A private workspace.

• Reliable internet.

• Suitable equipment.

Salary and Working Hours

The hourly rate is £15 – £18, depending on experience.

Ivy High will confirm which duties the hourly rate covers, including arrangements for preparation, marking and meetings, before appointment.

Expected Working Hours: 12 – 15 hours per week.

Work Location: Remote.
