About the Role
The Bricklayer will contribute to residential and small-scale commercial construction projects across the Scottish Highlands.
The successful candidate should be experienced and dependable, with a commitment to quality workmanship, precision and safe working practices.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Interpreting and working accurately from technical drawings, construction plans and site layouts.

Measuring, preparing, aligning and levelling work areas before laying bricks or blocks.

Preparing, mixing and applying mortar using appropriate hand tools and mechanical equipment.

Laying bricks, concrete blocks and natural stone to the required specifications, ensuring accuracy, durability and structural integrity.

Measuring, cutting and shaping building materials to accommodate architectural details, doors and window openings.

Carrying out masonry repairs and restoration work, ensuring consistency with existing materials and finishes.

Working collaboratively with site supervisors, architects and other construction professionals to maintain project quality and progress.

Applying appropriate bonding and reinforcement techniques to ensure durable construction.

Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment in accordance with Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regulations.
Skills and Experience

Proven practical experience in bricklaying or general construction work.

Alternatively, completion of a recognised bricklaying apprenticeship or substantial practical on-the-job training.

Good understanding of UK construction standards, building practices and relevant health and safety regulations.

Ability to read, understand and independently follow technical drawings, blueprints and building specifications.
