About the Role
Camphill Village Trust is seeking a Care & Support Worker to join the Care and Support Team. This position offers 30 hours per week, providing the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
The purpose of the role is to offer autonomous support to individuals, helping them achieve independence, choice, inclusion, and control. The Care & Support Worker will ensure that care provided is of a high standard, person-centred, and delivered efficiently within budget.
Responsibilities also include keeping care records up to date, maintaining assessments and risk plans, and liaising with social workers, family members, and key professionals as needed.
Location & Travel
This position is community-based at St Albans Community.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Team Leader, the Care & Support Worker will plan and deliver care that promotes the wellbeing and development of the people supported. Key duties include:

Supporting individuals to maintain a clean and welcoming living environment.

Assisting with laundry tasks and the proper use of equipment.

Helping plan meals, create shopping lists, cook, and store food safely.

Encouraging a healthy lifestyle by arranging and attending medical appointments.

Supporting budgeting, benefits access, tenancy maintenance, and financial management.

Promoting social inclusion and helping individuals maintain active social lives.

Providing personal care where required, including bathing and hair washing.

Administering, recording, ordering, and checking medication.

Completing documentation such as care plans, daily updates, risk assessments, and reports.

Upholding equality, diversity, and human rights within all support practices.

Working collaboratively with families and professionals.

Participating in ongoing training and professional development.

Developing an understanding of Camphill Village Trust’s philosophy and values in daily practice.
Person Specification
Knowledge & Experience

Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, or emotional challenges is desirable but not essential (training provided).

A driving licence is desirable but not required.

Sleep-ins are part of the role.
