Employer: NEXT
Job Title: Graphics Designer
Location: London
Salary: £45,000 to £80,000 per year
Job Type: Full-time
Summary
Working Pattern: Typically 5 days in the office, with core hours flexible between 8am-6pm.
The Role
As a Boyswear Graphic Designer within Next’s Fashion Brands team, you will act as a creative guardian for a prestigious portfolio including Paul Smith, AllSaints and Ted Baker boyswear, ensuring their unique brand “DNA” is translated into elevated, commercially successful designs across multi product categories, ages 0-14 years.
By bridging the gap between trend research and technical execution, you’ll make a tangible impact on the aesthetic direction of collections, reacting with agility to market data to keep offerings ahead of the curve.
You will thrive in a highly collaborative environment, working side-by-side with partner brands and internal garment teams to bring concepts to life across diverse product categories.
To ensure success from day one, NEXT provides comprehensive brand immersion and technical onboarding, supporting transition into a fast-paced, premium design landscape.
What You’ll Take On
Design High-Impact Collections
Create innovative, commercial, and elevated graphics that align with brand identities and drive sales.
Manage Factory Partnerships
Liaise directly with global factories and suppliers to oversee the production process, ensuring creative vision is translated accurately into the final product.
Build Trusted Relationships
Foster strong, professional bonds with external brand partners and internal teams to build a culture of confidence, trust, and seamless collaboration.
Coordinate Cross-Functionally
Work alongside Product Technologists, Buying & Merch teams to develop collections that meet quality standards and hit every milestone on the critical path.
Translate Global Trends
Research and communicate emerging trends in colour, fabric, and graphic techniques, turning abstract inspiration into actionable design concepts.
Deliver Technical Precision
Produce detailed and accurate Tech Packs that provide factories with the clear specifications needed to minimise errors and maximise efficiency.
What You’ll Bring
To succeed in this role, applicants will need to balance high-level creative flair with a practical, grounded approach to production.
NEXT is looking for an experienced designer who brings the following strengths to the team:
Versatile Design Expertise
Possess an adaptable “handwriting” that allows effortless switching between different brand aesthetics, product categories, and age ranges across boyswear.
Menswear Background Ideal
Someone that can showcase a Logo/Graphic background within experience and portfolio.
Technical Mastery
Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite with a deep understanding of print techniques (photographic and vector), trims, and woven branding.
Knowledge of how to build thorough tech packs that respect factory capabilities and price points.
Commercial Sharpness
Stay ahead of market trends and understand how to compose graphics and logos that are commercially viable and “on-brand.”
Resilience and Agility
Thrive in fast-paced environments, staying organised and positive even when priorities shift.
View change as an opportunity to innovate rather than a hurdle.
Clear Communication
Present concepts with confidence and communicate technical requirements clearly to both internal stakeholders and global suppliers.
Collaborative Spirit
Be a dedicated team player who enjoys building professional trust and is ready to mentor and support junior designers to help the whole team grow.
Forward-Thinking Skills
While not essential, experience with 3D design software /AI visualisation tools, or a background in garment construction will provide a significant head start.
Portfolio Requirements
To complete the application, applicants should submit a digital portfolio that highlights the ability to deliver elevated, high-end designs tailored to the premium boyswear market.
NEXT is specifically looking for visionary work that demonstrates forward-thinking trends and a sophisticated design handwriting capable of pushing creative boundaries.
Applications are open to candidates with a broad handwriting from a menswear or boyswear background.
Please ensure digital samples are uploaded with the submission, as applications without a portfolio cannot be considered.
Sponsorship
Candidates wishing to apply who would require sponsorship for this role will be required to meet the Home Office sponsorship requirements.
