Responsibilities
- Deliver personalized SAT and ACT preparation tutoring sessions via an online platform, adapting lessons to meet individual student needs.
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans focused on test-taking strategies, time management, and subject mastery in English, and Writing.
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction methods accordingly to maximize improvement.
- Utilize educational technology tools to enhance engagement and facilitate interactive learning experiences.
- Provide guidance on test format, question types, and effective study techniques for standardized tests.
- Support students in building confidence and developing critical thinking skills necessary for academic success.
- Maintain detailed records of tutoring sessions, student progress, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with parents or guardians when appropriate to communicate student progress and recommend additional resources or support.
Requirements
- Proven experience in SAT/ACT test preparation tutoring or related educational roles, with a strong emphasis on high school-level instruction.
- Demonstrated expertise in teaching English, Writing skills, and test-taking strategies.
- Experience working with high school students or teenagers in both online and in-person settings.
- Familiarity with online tutoring platforms and educational technology integration to create engaging lessons.
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively.
- Ability to develop customized lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and individual student goals.
- Excellent communication skills and a patient, encouraging attitude toward working with students of diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques suitable for virtual environments.
- Experience with curriculum development, test preparation course instruction, and working with special education needs is a plus.
